The Complete Works of Johannes Regis on Cypré
His music was universally in his lifetime, and is regarded as pioneering by scholars, yet until now the music of Johannes Regis has not been represented on disc. This world première recording presents all of Regis's surviving output, including two substantial masses and several motets. From the virtuosity and inventiveness of the L'homme armé mass to the eccentric scorings of the later motets, Regis distinguishes himself as a composer of vitality, variety and sophistication.
